Almost everyone experience stress at points in their lives, but did you know that chronic stress can lead to physical health issues? According to the American Psychological Association, job stress in particular can lead to an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. Taking Cigna’s online Health Assessment is a great first step to getting a picture of your overall health. But, if you’re experiencing chronic stress, be sure to take advantage of Greyhound’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

This program, provided by MHN, offers confidential access to counselors and other resources through a 24/7 telephone line and the EAP website. The EAP provides support for mental health and work/life balance issues – which are often major stress factors. Specific services include:

  • Marriage, family and relationship issues
  • Alcohol and drug dependency
  • Other emotional health issues
  • Grief and loss
  • Depression
  • Financial services
  • Legal services
  • Identity thefy
  • Childcare assistance

Check out this helpful flyer from MHN for more detailed information about what services your EAP can provide.

You’re already automatically enrolled in the program as of your date of hire, and you can enroll your dependents in the program at no cost. Coverage includes up to eight free, confidential counseling sessions (office visits, telephone consultations or web-video consultations) per individual per incident each year. Call 888-779-2235 or log in at the EAP site (company code: greyhound) to start managing your stress today!
